2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Ford is asserting itself as a leader in electric vehicle technology with its all-new electric truck--the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. It shares many of the same features of the manufacturer's regular F-150s, including the body and cabin. However, the V6 and V8 options are swapped out for a pair of electric motors and one of two different battery packs.

Overview

While this all-electric truck borrows its name from Ford's performance past, the F-150 Lightning is an all-new model for the Ford truck 2022 model year lineup. It will be available across Canada, including at Marlborough Ford, a Ford dealer in Calgary, AB. Drivers should make a reservation for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning at Marlborough Ford to own a piece of history and a really cool and capable truck.
Since its introduction to the Canadian market, the Ford F-Series has always been Canada's best-selling truck. 2020 marked the 55th consecutive year in which this was true. The Ford F-150 Lightning just gives buyers another great reason to choose the F-Series as their model of choice for a new vehicle.

Exterior Design

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is a beautiful truck, but its design does not differ significantly from the gas-powered models, as they are built with the same bodywork. The front-end is highlighted by a rectangular grille and face, surrounded with a solid band of headlights that light the night and give an imposing look while on the street.

Interior Features

The cabin environment in the 2022 F-150 Lightning is similar to what is presented in the gas-powered versions. There are a few key differences, such as an extra-large, vertical infotainment display, as well as a huge front-trunk cargo bay.
In terms of passenger space, the Lightning will only be initially offered as a crew cab with a 5.5-foot bed, offering plenty of space and leg room for up to five passengers.

Performance & Autonomy

Standard with two electric motors and all-wheel drive (AWD), the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck comes in two battery pack options: Standard-Range and Extended-Range. The Standard-Range battery offers 426 horsepower and 370 kilometres of range. The Extended-Range battery extends those limits to 563 horsepower and 482 kilometres of driving range.
While both battery packs offer 775 lb-ft of torque, only the Lightning with the Extended-Range battery is capable of hitting the 4,535-litre towing capability. And it can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

Technology Features

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning goes full speed into technology mode with a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that dominates the truck's dashboard. It runs Ford's latest Sync 4 software, matched with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot on all models.
Safety is at the forefront of the F-150 Lightning's design, with standard driver-assist technologies such as automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.
