The 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package Returns
For drivers thinking that the 1990s just happened, instead of ending over two decades ago, then Ford has some great news for you. Taking the nostalgia angle, Ford has announced the return of the Splash Package for its mid-size Ranger pickup truck for the 2022 model year. The 1990s were the last decade that saw a Splash package available for the model.
Splash Package History
The original Ford Ranger Splash was first offered on twin-I-beam 1993-1997 Ranger models. This sporty trim level was only available on flareside beds and added a mild suspension drop in addition to the traditional appearance package filled with Splash decals and bright exterior colours.
What is the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package?
The Splash Package is a sporty and stylish blast from the past, filled with distinctive colours and unique graphics for the 2022 Ford Ranger. This reimagining of something old, the Splash Package is perfect for Ranger drivers that want a personalised truck that looks completely different from other Rangers and other trucks in general.
Outside, a Ranger equipped with a Splash Package will have body-side orange and black graphics and special 18-inch 12-spoke wheels finished in matte black. There are orange accents on the grille, as well as black accents on the grille, bumpers, mirror caps, wheel lip mouldings, and fender flares.
Inside, orange and black still reins supreme. Exclusive seats come with the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package, and they are black with orange contrast stitching and unique carbon grain with tuxedo stripes. Orange stitching contrast is also on the steering wheel, gear selector, and parking brake boot on the XLT model, but they are more prominent on the Lariat model.
Leather-trimmed seats are added to the Ranger's Lariat model, as well as orange stitching on the front and rear armrests and the top of the dashboard.
The 2022 Ford Ranger XLT and Lariat models are available with the Splash Package, but only when the truck is equipped with the Super Crew Cab. The Splash Package can also be paired with the FX4 Off-Road Package to add style to a driver's off-road adventures.
Splash Limited Editions
In addition to the Ford Ranger Splash Package, Ford will also offer a run of Splash Limited Editions. These 2022 Ford Ranger models will introduce new, one-time-only colours to buyers. Only a few hundred vehicles will be produced for each colour and will only be available for a few months at a time. Ford will kick off the Splash Limited Edition models with the Snow Edition in late 2021 or early 2022.
