The Ford F-Series has long been a leader for the pickup truck segment, and it continues to break new ground with the introduction of the 2018 Ford F-150 Police Responder, which is the first police pursuit-rated pickup truck. Offering a number of unique design features, the new F-150 Police Responder gives law enforcement agencies a highly-capable patrol vehicle. 

Ford F-150 Police Responder Engine Specs

Under the hood of the Ford F-150 Police Responder is a powerful and efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, which is mated to a Ford SelectShift 10-speed transmission. The powertrain delivers an output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is more than any other pursuit-rated police vehicle.

Off-Road Capabilities of Ford F-150 Police Responder 

The Ford F-150 Police Responder — which is based off the F-150 FX4 off-road model, boasts impressive off-road capabilities. Along with its traction-enhancing four-wheel drive system, it comes with a police-calibrated brake system with upgraded calipers and pad friction material, upgraded front-stabilizer bar for improved braking and handling and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. Underbody skid plates protect the truck from curbs and rough terrain.

Off-Road Capabilities of 2018 Ford F-150 Police Responder

Ford F-150 Aluminum-Alloy SuperCrew Body 

The new F-150 Police Responder features Ford’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy SuperCrew body — giving it the largest passenger volume, payload and towing capacity (7,000 pounds) of any pursuit-rated police vehicle. Also, a high-output 240-amp alternator is included to support on-board electrical devices, along with a police-calibrated speedometer and engine idle meter.
